1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
I have been analysising a number of front covers, double page spreads, fonts, differnt kinds of pictures etc. This has helped me to give me idea's of what I wanted for my music magazine. As I have been working and analysising my magazine i have found idea's from Blender and Vibe magazine, by looking at these it has helped me what kind of music magazine I wanted to do and what colours attract people's attention. Some magazine's stays the same kind of style which I wanted to be different – such as have a big title across the front, a main big balck and white picture.
2. How does your media product represent particular social groups?
My media product mainly brings out the gender side to it because it has young girls on the front which boys would not really want to pick up if it's mainly about girls. When i was doing my media product I used my own theme of black and white picture, with brightly coloured writing to make it stand out as well as the picture.
3. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
Magazine/Sweet Shops would probley buy my product because teenagers go to places like that to get things they want, as my magazine is bright people would deffortantly by able to see it and look at it. I dont think places like Asda would buy and show my magzine because mainly adults go there to do there local shopping and would not see the magazine as they dont have enough time to look at it.
4. Who would be the audience for your media product?
When I was starting my music magazine I planned the target audince to be all ages and both boy and girl. But as I was researching different magazines I changed my mind I wanted to go for one gender and a normal age range.
I did this because I thought it was a simple way of grabbing a auidence of one particliar range.
5. How did you attract/address your audience?
I attracted my audience by making my friends that are well known the front cover as it would of been easier so people analysising my blog knew that.
On my front cover I also advertised other things that are in the magazine such as song Lyrics in side with pictures under the sub headings. Also the colours I used were simple as people really didnt have to focus that much on the colours as well as the pictures.
6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing the product?
Working through this project I have learnt how to use alot of different soft ware such as publiser. I also used fireworks and paint which I have used in different subjects but i learnt some new things on the soft ware which i didnt no about, such as the cutting tool I have tryed to use it before but I didnt really no what I was doing so I sat down one lesson and practiced.
7. Looking back to your preliminary task, what do you feel that you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
When I was doing my prelim cover I basiclly used that as a practice of how to use the software and take pictures at different angles. But when I went to do my Final cover I realised that I had to do a little more than angles, I had to use double page spreads on publisher and edit photo's better. I think that I have learnt that always practice before starting other wise you well end up with what you got and you wish that it was better if you had more time insted of playing about with one thing longer than the rest.
